MONROE, La. -- The ULM baseball team will make its way to Jonesboro, Ark., for a three-game series at Arkansas State this weekend as the conference begins the second half of its season. All three games can be heard live on KMLB 540 AM in Monroe with

First Pitch
• ULM will hit the road for a three-game series at Arkansas State beginning Friday night at 5 p.m... Game two of the weekend series is set for Saturday at 6 p.m., followed by Sunday's finale at 1 p.m.
• In ULM's last trip to Jonesboro, the Warhawks claimed a 2-1 series win over the Red Wolves (L, 6-7; W, 9-0; W, 10-1 -- April 6-8, 2012).
• ULM played its final non-conference road game of the season on Tuesday and the Warhawks suffered a 6-1 setback at Northwestern State... The Warhawks have just one midweek tilt currently remaining on the schedule, an April 23rd matchup against Grambling State... First pitch against the Tigers at Warhawk Field is slated for Noon.
• Chet Simoneaux led the Warhawks at the plate in Natchitoches, La., as he tallied two hits in his three at-bats... Dalton Herrington drove in Anthony Herrera in the first inning as Herrington continues to lead the club in RBI.
• Justin Stawychny recorded a hit and also drew a walk as he extended his recent streaks... Stawychny has now recorded a hit in 12 straight games and he has reached base safely in 14 consecutive contests.
• Kodie Tidwell earned a trio of honors for his big week last week... He earned Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors as well as the Louisiana Hitter of the Week and Warhawk of the Week accolades after posting a batting average of .550 (11-for-20) with six RBI and four runs... He also earned four free passes on the week (three walks, one hit-by-pitch) and he posted 1.275 OPS (.650 Slugging %, .625 On-Base %).
• Over the weekend, the Warhawks picked up a 2-1 series win over Texas State by winning the final two games of the series.
• Justin Stawychny came through with what proved to be the game-winning hit with a two-RBI single through the left side in the bottom of the sixth... Anthony Herrera and Kodie Tidwell came in to score and give the Warhawks a 7-6 lead after six innings.
• Anthony Herrera and Ross Moore each tallied two hits in the series finale and the duo combined for three RBI and three runs.
• On Saturday night, the Warhawks outlasted the Bobcats in a game that featured 29 total runs (17 earned) on 32 total hits... ULM evened the series with the 17-12 win.
• Chet Simoneaux and Anthony Herrera combined for 11 of the team's 15 RBI in the win... Simoneaux finished 3-of-4 at the plate with career-highs in RBI (six) and runs (four)... Herrera also set six RBI (career-high) and four runs while Herrera set career marks in hits (five) and RBI (five).

Arkansas State enters the weekend with a 21-16 overall record and a 10-5 mark in Sun Belt Conference play... During the midweek, the Red Wolves claimed a 6-4 road win at Memphis (Tuesday).
Stuart Levy (.315 BA) is one of three regular, everyday players that is batting .300 or better (Matt Burgess, .313; Zach Maggio, .300)... Burgess leads the team in both hits (46) and RBI (37), while Austin Baker is the leader in runs scored (33), homers (6) and stolen bases (10).
The Red Wolves projected weekend rotation of David Owen (Friday), Bryan Ayers (Saturday) and Bradley Wallace (Sunday) have combined for a total of eight wins on the season and the trio owns a combined strikeout-to-walk ratio of 2.22:1 (100 strikeouts, 45 walks)... In 22.2 innings of work this season, Ayers has allowed just one extra-base hit, a double.
Following the midweek series vs. ULM, the Bobcats will hit the road for a midweek tilt at Central Arkansas (Tuesday), before traveling to Atlanta for a three-game series at Georgia State next weekend.
