MONROE, La. -- ULM Director of Athletics Brian Wickstrom has announced two senior staff promotions within the Athletic Department. Richard Duran has been elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations, while Megan Jefcoat has been promoted to Interim Executive Director of the ULM Athletic Foundation.
“Richard has been involved in all phases of external operations since we arrived back in 2013,” Wickstrom said. “He has worked at two institutions with me and I feel the seamless transition will allow us to continue the growth in revenue generation. Megan's relationship with all of our donors and her knowledge of the ULMAF will also be very valuable during these exciting times of Warhawk Athletics”.
Duran has spent the past two years as the Director of Marketing & Event Management for the ULM Athletics Department. In his new role, the Montebello, Calif. native will oversee all revenue generation aspects of the department including marketing/promotions, event management, development, media relations and ticketing. Duran will also serve as the liaison to Warhawk Sports Properties (Learfield Sports).
Duran graduated from Whittier College in 2011 after playing football for the Poets for four years. He obtained a master's degree from the University of San Francisco in 2013 and is currently pursuing his doctorate.
Jefcoat is beginning her 10th year with the Warhawks and has spent the past two years as the Director of Development for the ULM Athletic Foundation. As the Interim Executive Director, Jefcoat will direct all fundraising efforts and will be in charge of all administrative duties for the ULM Athletic Foundation, which raises scholarship funds for the 350 Warhawk student-athletes.
“I'm really proud to announce that Megan Jefcoat has been named as the Interim Executive Director for the ULM Athletic Foundation. I believe and have all the confidence in the world that Megan will do an outstanding job,” ULM Athletic Foundation President Kevin Woods said.
Jefcoat graduated from ULM in 2002 and is now pursuing her master's. She currently resides in Monroe with her husband Mitchell and their two daughters, Molly (5) and Magnolia (2).
