A layup by Shannon Davis gave ULM a 22-point lead (60-38) with just over 12 minutes remaining in the contest, but Brooke Shepherd temporarily stopped the bleeding with a three-pointer. The Warhawks led by as many as 26 in the second half.

The Warhawks shot lights out from beyond the arc connecting on 8-of-16, led by Jackson's 3-of-3 shooting. ULM also stayed true to form on the defensive end forcing the Lady Demons into 25 turnovers on the game; the Warhawks entered the contest forcing over 19 turnovers per game.

Northwestern State rolled off five straight points taking less than a minute of the clock closing the gap to 30-28 with two minutes to play, but Howard netted her first points of the game draining a three from the right wing pushing ULM back up five.

Jackson added another long-ranger dagger for the Warhawks, but Ashli Barnum hit a jumper at the buzzer closing the ULM lead to 36-32 at the break.

The Warhawks continue their four game road trip with a stop at Louisiana Tech on Tuesday night. Tipoff in the 53rd installment of the series is set for 6:00 p.m. in the Thomas Assembly Center. ULM defeated the Lady Techsters 58-54 last season.  The victory was the first for the Warhawks over La. Tech since 1992; however, the schools only played five times during that stretch.
