TROY, Ala. - The seventh-seeded ULM softball team battled the South Alabame into extra innings on Thursday, however came up on the wrong end of a 3-2 game in eight innings in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championship to eliminate the Warhawks. 

TURNING POINT

-After a solo home run from Jayden Mount tied it in the sixth for the Warhawks, the Jaguars used a one-out RBI double in the eighth to give them lead in extra innings that they would hold on to.

NOTABLES

-Mount and Sydney McKay supplied all of the ULM offense with four total hits on Thursday, including Mount's solo home run. Jessie Watts added an RBI groundout in the fourth inning.

-Melanie Coyne got the start for the Warhawks in the circle and went four innings allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out one.

-Paige Murray came on in relief to pitch the final four innings allowing just two hits and one earned run which proved to be the difference in the extra inning ball game.
