MONROE, La. – ULM soccer dropped Sunday's Sun Belt Conference match-up to Coastal Carolina, 1-0. The one goal loss marks the third-in-a row for the Warhawks and their sixth this season.
The ULM Warhawks had Coastal Carolina all tied up at zeros headed into the final ten minutes of the first half before a fatal foul by ULM would give the Chanticleers a penalty kick at the 36 minute mark. Coastal Carolina's Heston Neal netted the shot and gave the Chanticleers the only goal it needed to defeat the Warhawks.
ULM recorded six shots after Coastal's goal to try and even the score, with attempts from
Taylor Altieri,
Cassidy Wiest,
Sheena Martin,
Camryn Ciaramella, and
Alexiss Trudeau.
Overall, the Warhawks were outshot 30-8, with six shots on goal to the Chanticleers 14.
Warhawk keeper,
Brooke-Lynn Scroggins recorded 13 saves in the loss for her third-straight game with double-digit saves.
ULM will return home for a one-game week against South Alabama on Friday (Oct. 12) at 4 p.m.
