OXFORD, Miss. – The ULM softball team managed only one hit against the University of Mississippi on Wednesday night (April 18), dropping the mid-week, non-conference match-up, in a 7-0 shutout.
The Warhawks were able to connect on most pitches coming out of the glove of Rebel starting pitcher Kaitlin Lee (13-8), but either grounded-out or flew-out 15 of the Hawk's 21 outs.
The lone hawk to earn a hit in the loss was junior
Sydney McKay, who singled to second base in the third inning.
The only other Warhawk left on base was senior
Cheyanne Lyon, who was hit by a pitch to lead off the second inning.
The Rebels scored in only two of their six offensive innings, with five runs in the second and then two more in the fourth. Three of their seven runs were scored off Warhawk miscues.
ULM will travel to Texas State this weekend to face the Bobcats, the series will kick-off with a 1 p.m. double-header start on Saturday (April 21).
