MONROE, La. – Four members of the ULM softball team finished with two hits each as the Warhawks tied their third-most single-game hits of the season (11) in a 7-3 setback to Central Arkansas on Tuesday, March 19.

The Warhawks (4-23) had four players record multi-hit games including Sydney McKay (2-4, RBI), Jayden Mount (2-4, RBI, HR), Bailey Thibodeaux (2-3) and Jaclyn Kresta (2-3).

Blaire Wilson (0-3) toed the rubber for ULM, tossing five innings where she allowed four runs on four hits while walking two UCA hitters.

ULM struck first when Jessie Watts sent a two-out 1-2 pitch over the right-centerfield wall for the first run of the contest. Mount followed four pitches later with a home run down the left-field line, building a 2-0 advantage for the Warhawks.

Central Arkansas (13-16) answered with its first run of the game in the top of the third when Kaylyn Shepherd reached on a fielder's choice that plated Oakley Sisemore from third.

Two innings later, the Bears used a three-run inning to move in front 4-2. Libby Morris worked the count to draw a bases loaded walk to knot the game at 2-2. Cylla Hill followed with a single to center field, scoring Callie Eary and Kayla Crutchmer in the process, to give UCA a 4-2 lead.

The Bears stretched their lead to 5-2 in the top of the sixth after Erin Blackburn reached on an error at second, which allowed Sisemore to trot home for an unearned run. ULM bounced back with a run in the bottom of the frame, which came after a single down the right field line by McKay that plated Wrobel, trimming the deficit to two at 5-3.

Rio Sanchez (5-5) went the distance in the circle for UCA, surrendering three runs (two earned) on 11 hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

However, UCA opened the seventh with a single by Morris and a home run to left field by Hill to make for the 7-3 final.
