Warhawks Suffer First Loss, Come Up Short Against Little Rock, 2-0

MONROE, La. – ULM's eight-match unbeaten streak to open the season came to an end with a 2-0 loss to Little Rock Friday night at Brown Stadium.
 
The Warhawks (7-1-1 overall, 1-1-1 Sun Belt Conference) outshot the Trojans (6-3-3, 2-0-2) 11-4, but Little Rock had three shots on goal to two for ULM.
 
The Trojans had the only shot on goal in the first half, but ULM junior goalkeeper Hailey Hillock made the save on Skylar Garner's shot. ULM outshot Little Rock, 4-2, in the first half.
 
The Trojans claimed the lead early in the second half when Jana Heinen scored in the 52nd minute.
 
ULM freshman Taylor Henry fired a shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but Little Rock keeper Saskia Wagner made the stop. The Warhawks fired four shots a six-minute span, but an own goal in the 76th minute ultimately doubled the Trojan lead to 2-0.
 
Henry came up with another shot on goal in the 80th minute, but again Wagner made the save. Henry had five of ULM's 11 shots and two shots on goal.
 
Hillock and Wagner made two saves each in net.
