LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The ULM volleyball team dropped its Friday night matchup with Little Rock, 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-16), at the Jack Stephens Center.
An early 2-2 tie quickly gave way to a 10-4 lead by the Trojans in set one. The Warhawks' longest scoring streak was just a three-score run in the set while the Trojans marched to a 1-0 lead after winning, 25-17.
ULM's offensive struggle carried over into the second set of the night. Little Rock scored the first five points of the set. The Trojans limited the Warhawk offense to just five kills in the set. The Warhawks were able to close the margin to six points at 17-11, but they couldn't take the lead in the set. Little Rock won their second straight set with a score of 25-13.
ULM had control for the early portion of the third set. ULM took the initial lead and went up 3-1 early with back-to-back kills from freshman Avery Cole. ULM held the lead until the Trojans took control at 10-9 in the set. ULM would close the margin to just one score again at 12-11 but the Trojans widened the margin for the remainder of the contest. Little Rock closed out the set on a 7-2 run to win the final set, 25-16.
Cole led the Warhawks with eight kills. Junior Mariana Volponi e Giordan dished out 14 assists. Freshman Cameron Rogers had nine digs on the night.
