JONESBORO, Ark. – The ULM tennis team earned its fifth win in its last seven matches, including its third sweep of the spring, with a 7-0 victory at Sun Belt Conference rival Arkansas State Sunday (March 28).
 
It marked ULM's first 7-0 win in league play since March 9, 2013, when the Warhawks swept Little Rock.
 
ULM (8-4, 2-3 Sun Belt) got off to a strong start at the A-State Tennis Complex when the No. 1 combination of Hala Badwy and Oleksandra Balaba defeated Thea Rice and Hunter Roper by a 6-2 margin. The Warhawks secured the doubles point at No. 2 when the tandem of Drousile Dzeubou and Madalina Grigoriu posted a 7-5 win over Shelby King and Jill Morse. With the point won by ULM, the No. 3 doubles match went unfinished with A-State's Nejla Zukic and Yasmine Humbert leading Jimena Paula Garbino and Daniela Hernandez, 5-4.
 
Hernandez gave ULM 2-0 lead in the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Humbert at No. 6 singles. Garbino followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Amelia Guevremont at No. 5 before Dzeubou clinched the match for the Warhawks with a 6-2, 7-6 (5) victory over Rice at No. 1 singles.
 
Balaba extended ULM's lead to 5-0 with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over King at No. 3 singles. Badway pushed the Warhawks to a 6-0 advantage with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Roper at the No. 2 position. Grigoriu completed the sweep for ULM with a 5-7, 6-4, 10-0 (tiebreaker) victory over Zukic at No. 4 singles.
 
ULM concludes its Sun Belt Conference regular-season schedule with a three-match homestand at Heard Stadium, beginning on Saturday, April 3 against UT Arlington at 10 a.m.
