MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team capped off the 2021 regular season with a 4-0 victory over Sun Belt Conference foe Arkansas State on Sunday, April 11. The win marks the sixth at home (6-2) for the Warhawks and their 10th this season.
 
ULM (10-5, 4-4 Sun Belt) grabbed a 6-2 win in doubles action when the No. 1 pairing of Hala Badwy and Oleksandra Balaba earned a victory over Thea Rice and Hunter Roper. The Warhawks followed that by claiming the first point of the match as Drousile Dzeubou and Madalina Grigoriu downed the tandem of Shelby King and Jill Morse by a 6-2 margin at the No. 2 position.
 
The Warhawks stretched their lead to 2-0 after Jimena Paula Garbino completed a straight-set victory against Nejla Zukic by scores of 6-2, 6-3. Grigoriu put ULM within one point of clinching the team win with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Jill Morse at No. 4 singles. Balaba secured ULM's 4-0 team win with a 6-1, 7-6 (1) decision over Shelby King at No. 3 singles.
 
The Warhawks finished conference schedule with back-to-back victories over Texas State and Arkansas State.
 
Next, ULM travels to the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship, scheduled for April 15-18 in Peachtree City, Georgia.
