BATON ROUGE, La. – ULM tallied four second-half goals to pull away for a 6-1 win at Southern Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Park.
The win pushes ULM to a 5-0 start on the season, marking the best start in program history and the first five-match winning streak for the Warhawks since 2005.
"We have been working on starting games with the required intensity and today we did a good job of executing that," ULM head coach
Sean Fraser said. "The players were sharp and passed the ball with good endeavor."
Five different Warhawks found the back of the net, led by freshman
Janet Stopka's two goals. Freshman

Theoni Zerva, junior
Lucia Lobato and junior
Courtney Marten also collected goals in the win.
Stopka started the scoring in the 24th minute with an unassisted goal for the 1-0 lead. Southern answered two minutes later with a goal by Victoria Thomas to knot the match at 1.
"We had a lapse for about five minutes that we need to do better with, but as the game wore on, we continued to play back to front with good quality," Fraser said. "It's nice to create chances but it's even better to have put a few away in the last couple of games."
ULM reclaimed the lead for good in the 41st minute when Grutkamp scored off an assist from junior
Efi Brame, putting the Warhawks up 2-1, which held to halftime.
The Warhawks rolled to the win in the second half. In the 51st minute, Zerva fired home a shot to double the lead to 3-1. Lobato followed off an assist from senior
Aysha Bentick in the 57th minute before Stopka struck again in the 64th minute. Marten capped the barrage in the 74th minute with Bentick's second assist of the match.
ULM dominated with 30 shots to nine for Southern. The Warhawks had 21 shots on goal to just seven for the Jaguars.
Junior
Hailey Hillock picked up her fourth win in net, playing the first 72 minutes with five saves. Freshman
Mickaela Leal played the final 18 minutes and had one save.
The Warhawks play for the first six-match winning streak in program history at 7 p.m. Wednesday vs. Mississippi Valley State at Brown Stadium.
