LAFAYETTE, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns used a 25-point, 14-rebound double-double from Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year Ty'Reona Doucet to pull away from ULM, 76-55, Saturday afternoon at the Cajundome.
The Cajuns shot over 50% from the field, finishing at 52% (31-of-60), while ULM shot 40% (22-of-55). ULM had 16 turnovers to nine for the Cajuns.

Kyren Whittington led ULM with 17 points, while true freshman
Katlyn Manuel finished a point shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds. Lanay Wheaton tallied 13 points and Destiny Rice had 12 for the Cajuns.
The game was back-and-forth early, as the Ragin' Cajuns built an 11-5 lead in the first quarter. ULM battled back to pull within one at 13-12 on a bucket by Whittington. However, the Warhawks were never able to get in front. Doucet finished a three-point play, but ULM cut the gap to one again on a jumper by true freshman
Amaya Ford. Layups by Doucet and Ashlyn Jones extended the Cajun lead to five after a quarter, 21-16.
The Cajuns pushed the lead to nine, 25-16, on a 3-pointer by Wheaton with 8:49 left in the half. ULM pulled within four, 29-25, on a jumper by Whittington with 4:59 remaining in the half. Again, the Cajuns stopped ULM's momentum and extended the lead to seven at halftime, 37-30.
The Cajuns opened the third quarter strong, scoring nine of the first 11 points to go up 46-32 on free throws by Doucet. A 7-0 run brought ULM back within seven, 46-39, on a layup by Whittington with 4:05 left in the quarter. The Cajuns closed the quarter with another burst, outscoring ULM 10-4 down the stretch to lead 58-43 on a bucket by Doucet to end the quarter.
The Cajuns controlled the final frame, extending the lead to as much as 22 before completing the 21-point win.
The Warhawks return to Fant-Ewing Coliseum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to face Arkansas State.
