MONROE, La. -Â ULM begins the 2022 season at 5 p.m. Sunday against NCAA Division I-newcomer Texas A&M-Commerce. The Warhawks are coming off an 8-12 season in 2021 that saw ULM advance to its first Sun Belt Conference Championship semifinal, winning the first two conference tournament matches since joining the SBC prior to the 2006 season. TAMUC opened its first season in NCAA I with a 4-0 loss at Oral Roberts on Thursday.

ULM set numerous program records in head coach
Sean Fraser's second season at the helm of the Warhawks in 2021. ULM set school records for points (146; 53 goals, 40 assists), shots (383) and goals against average (1.04). The offense scored three-or-more goals in nine matches, while the defense allowed one goal or less in 14 matches. After a strong start to the season, ULM rebounded from a mid-season three-match losing skid to win seven of the next eight matches, including the first two wins at the Sun Belt Conference Championship in program history, defeating ninth-seeded Troy, 1-0, and regular-season champion Arkansas State, 2-1, before falling to Georgia Southern in the semifinals.

Sunday's match is the first-ever meeting between the Warhawks and Lions.
A LOOK AHEAD -
ULM continues a busy stretch to open the season with a road trip to Lorman, Mississippi, to face Alcorn State for the third-consecutive season at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Warhawks then open up Brown Stadium for the first time in 2022 facing I-20 foe Grambling State at 6 p.m. Friday. Tickets are available for $5.
