MATCH NOTES


MONROE, La. - ULM plays its 2022 home opener at 6 p.m. Friday against I-20 foe Grambling before heading back on the road to face Alcorn in a make-up contest at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Lorman, Mississippi. The Warhawks and Lady Braves were postponed on Wednesday due to inclement weather. ULM enters Friday's match vs. Grambling at 1-0 on the season after a 3-0 win at Texas A&M-Commerce on Sunday, Aug. 21.

Admission to Friday's home match is $5.

RECAP -
Sophomore midfielder Inge Konst recorded a hat trick, scoring all three of her goals in the second half as ULM defeated Texas A&M-Commerce, 3-0, on Sunday, Aug. 21, at Lion Soccer Stadium. Konst scored in the 68th minute off an assist from graduate Kédie Johnson for the 1-0 lead. She doubled the advantage on a penalty kick in the 74th minute. She then iced the win and secured the hat trick with a goal in the 81st minute with the assist to sophomore Mara Grutkamp.
 
It was the ninth hat trick in ULM history and the fourth since head coach Sean Fraser took over the program prior to the 2020-21 season.
 
Sophomore Mickaela Leal made six saves for her third career shutout in five starts.
 
SERIES HISTORY –
ULM leads the series against Grambling, 9-3. The Warhawks forfeited last year's match after ULM used an ineligible player in the match. ULM is 6-0 at home all-time against the Tigers.
 
ULM leads the series against Alcorn, 3-0. ULM has outscored the Lady Braves 20-0 over the three meetings, including a 7-0 win at Brown Stadium in Monroe last year.
 
A LOOK AHEAD -
After two days off, ULM gets right back to work with three road matches in five days, facing Jackson State at 6 p.m. Sept. 2, Mississippi Valley State at 1 p.m. Sept. 4 and Southern at 6 p.m. Sept. 6.
 
KONST WINS FIRST SBC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR –
After scoring all three goals in ULM's win at Texas A&M-Commerce, sophomore midfielder Inge Konst was named the first Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the 2022 season on Tuesday afternoon. After one week of play, Konst leads the Sun Belt Conference with three goals.
 
She is the fifth all-time SBC Offensive Player of the Week for ULM and the fourth in the last two seasons. Senior Courtney Marten earned the honor twice last season while Mara Grutkamp picked it up once.
