ULM Plays to Draw at Alcorn

LORMAN, Miss. – ULM played to a 2-2 draw with Alcorn Tuesday night at Spinks-Casem Stadium.
 
The Warhawks took the first lead of the game late in the first half. After having four shots stopped, Mara Grutkamp started the scoring off an assist from Sophia Youngman, putting ULM up 1-0 in the 43rd minute.
 
Alcorn tied the match up before halftime. In the 45th minute, with just 16 seconds left in the half, Zea Anderson scored her first goal of the night, off an assist from Samara Nunn, to send the game to the break tied at 1.
 
The Lady Braves took the lead early in the second half. In the 47th minute, Anderson struck again, this time off an assist by Natacia Ruiz, to put Alcorn up, 2-1.
 
The Warhawks tied the game in the 56th minute, as Lena Göppel scored off an assist from Grutkamp to bring the match level at 2.
 
Neither team was able to score in the remainder of the match, with ULM firing four more shots on goal and Alcorn unable to find the back of the net on two.
 
ULM had 21 shots, with 10 on frame, to just six shots and five on goal for Alcorn. Grutkamp had six shots, putting four on goal, while Efi Brame had four shots, placing three on net. Anderson had three shots, all on goal, to lead Alcorn.
 
Mickaela Leal made three saves for ULM, while Alcorn's Paula Argelaguet tallied eight saves.
 
Due to a lack of water in Jackson, Mississippi, ULM will play at home at 6 p.m. Friday against Jackson State.
