SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State jumped out to a quick lead and didn't look back, picking up a 4-1 win over ULM Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Soccer Complex.
The Bobcats fired 20 shots, placing 11 on goal, to just 11 shots for ULM, with three on net.
Madi Goss started the scoring in the third minute, with an assist to Juana Plata, as Texas State took a 1-0 lead.
The Bobcats doubled the lead in the 18th minute as Wimberley Wright scored off assists by Goss and Plata, going up 2-0. The score held to halftime.
Texas State continued to pull away in the second half. Kiara Gonzales scored in the 53rd minute and Goss scored her second goal of the match in the 55th minute to push the lead to 4-0.
ULM notched its only goal in the 62nd minute as
Paula Guba scored off an assist by
Inge Konst.
Mickaela Leal made four saves and Alexa Castro had two saves for ULM. Katelyn Chrisman picked up two saves for Texas State.
ULM returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday against Marshall at Brown Stadium.
