LAKE CHARLES, La. - The ULM women's basketball team completed the sweep of the McNeese Multi-Team Event with an 87-53 win over McNeese Saturday afternoon at the Legacy Center.

Both teams started the game slow with only seven total points in the first five minutes. With the score at 5-4, ULM (4-1) used a 7-0 run to take control. It held the Cowgirls (1-4) to only nine points in the quarter.

With the Warhawks holding a 25-16 lead, they went on a 7-0 run to increase the gap to 16 points. It was a 39-20 score at halftime.
Sania Wells ended the half with 11 points and two rebounds.

ULM set the tone in the third quarter as it jumped out with a 12-2 start. It used another 8-0 run to hold a commanding 30-point lead. Although McNeese finished the quarter with four straight baskets, the Warhawks still remained in control with a 67-41 lead.

All that was left to do in the fourth was watch the clock run down. The Warhawks shot down any hopes of a comeback with a 20-point fourth quarter, and they left the city of Lake Charles with a victory.

Katlyn Manuel ended the game with 21 points along with five rebounds.
Kyjai Miles produced 10 rebounds, and three players led the team in assists with
Lauren Gross,
Jakayla Johnson and Wells having four each.

The Warhawks return home for a midweek game against Louisiana Christian at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
