STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern scored three-or-more runs in seven out of eight offensive innings, picking up a school-record 35 runs on a program-best 27 hits as the Eagles clinched the series with a 35-8 win over ULM Saturday at J. I. Clements Stadium.
Georgia Southern hit six home runs on the day, with Blake Evans going deep twice. Jarrett Brown, Noah Ledford, Corey Dowdell and Luke Hatcher also hit homers. Brown had six hits with eight RBIs while Evans had five hits with six RBIs.
Jake Haggard hit a 2-run home run for ULM. He was joined by
Jayson Zmejkoski,
Cardell Thibodeaux,
Chase DeJean and
Carson Jones with two hits each.
The series concludes at 1 p.m. EDT/12 p.m. CDT Sunday.
