STARKVILLE, Miss. – The ULM men's and women's track & field teams combined to earn three first-place finishes at Mississippi State's Maroon & White Invitational Friday and Saturday.
The Warhawks also combined for nine personal-best marks in the meet.
On the women's side,
Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi earned her fourth triple jump win of the outdoor season with a leap of 43-5.75 (13.25 meters). She also placed second in the long jump with a distance of 20-1.75 (6.14 meters).
The women's 4x400-meter relay posted a win. The team of
Brittney Roberson,
Brianna Taylor,
Amanda Radava and
Kimone Campbell finished in 3:47.50.
Also for the women, Campbell set a personal-best and reset her own school record to place second in the elite 800 race in 2:06.19.
Olaia Becerril Alvarez was third in the long jump at 19-10.25 (6.05) and
Brianna Washington was third in the discus at 147-10 (45.05).
For the men,
Teddy Gowen posted the other win for the Warhawks, taking the 3000 meters in 9:15.89.
Juwan Blignaut was second in the 1500 in 3:56.84 and set a personal best in the elite 800 race in 1:53.11.
Kolton Kelley was second in the 800 in a personal-best time of 1:57.01.
Ali Eren Unlu took second in the high jump at 6-8.75 (2.05) and
Jay Louison-Roe was third in the triple jump at 45-11.5 (14.01) while adding a personal best in the long jump at 21-11 (6.68 meters).
Personal bests for the women included
Di'Keriun Straughter in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.43) and
Eliana Battle in the elite 1500 (4:44.73).
Other personal bests for the men included
Palmer Hearne in the high jump (6-2.75, 1.90 meters),
Reid Guirlando in the 400 (50.48) and
Ericleon May in the 200 (22.67).
