MONROE, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns scored four runs in the top of the first inning, going on to a weather-shortened 10-0 win in six innings over ULM to sweep the series Sunday afternoon at Lou St. Amant Field.
The Warhawks (16-32 overall, 5-18 Sun Belt Conference) were limited to just four hits in the game, with two coming off the bat of
Matt Abshire.
Max Marusak, Kyle DeBarge, Conor Higgs, Carson Roccaforte and John Taylor each had two hits for the Ragin' Cajuns (32-17, 14-10). Taylor had two RBIs, Marusak hit a home run and Roccaforte had a pair of doubles.
Cooper Rawls (10-0) threw the final 2 2/3 shutout innings for the win for the Cajuns, allowing three hits with one strikeout. Monroe native Jake Hammond fired three innings in the start for the Cajuns, giving up one hit with one walk and three strikeouts.
Justin Robinson (0-1) suffered the loss in his first collegiate start, allowing six runs on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts in three innings.
The game featured a one hour and 28-minute lightning delay in the bottom of the fourth inning, and the game was called after a one hour and eight-minute delay in the bottom of the seventh inning.
ULM plays its final non-conference and midweek contest at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stephen F. Austin.
