Preview: Volleyball Hosts Texas State

MONROE La. – The ULM volleyball team continues its home stand this weekend when it welcomes Texas State to Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
 
The Warhawks enter the weekend still looking for their first Sun Belt Conference win. They failed in their last two matches, losing to Marshall. 
 
The Bobcats own a 5-3 record in Sun Belt play. They split their series last weekend at home against Arkansas State.
 
For ULM, sophomore Ariana Brown enters as the biggest threat on the attack. She has culminated in 208 kills during the season (3.20 per set) and has a .154 hitting percentage. She is also a team leader in service aces with 25 (.38 per set).
 
Supporting in the attack is sophomore Hannah Redrow. She has produced 109 kills in 2024, good for second on the team, and has a .184 hitting percentage. 
 
Setting for ULM is sophomore Morgan Howard, who has tallied 503 assists (7.29 per set) in 2024. She enters the weekend with 999 career assists, only needing one more to pass the 1,000 mark. Howard is also second on the team in service aces with 14 and has 163 digs for the season, also second most for ULM.
 
Senior Cameron Rogers leads the team in defense. Her 290 digs (4.20 per set) are the most on the team. Senior Kali Walker also ranks well in digs, being third on the team with 158.
 
The duo of Redrow and Madeline Villarreal are the main blockers for the Warhawks. Redrow leads the team in total blocks with 35, and Villarreal is behind her with 30.
 
Samantha Wunsch leads the team in kills for Texas State, with 237 (3.49 per set). Mj Mccurdy also a threat on the attack with her 191 kills, along with her team-leading 16 service aces.
 
Ryann Torres is the setter for the Bobcats. She has 656 assists on the year, and her 9.94 assists per set lead the Sun Belt Conference.
 
On defense, Alyssa Ortega is the top defender with her team-leading 259 digs (3.81 per set). Jade Defraeye leads the team in total blocks with 82.
 
Game one starts on Friday, October 25 at 6 p.m., and game two serves on Saturday, October 26 at 2 p.m.
