MONROE, La. – The ULM volleyball team lost the first of two matches 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18) to the Ragin' Cajuns Thursday night.

With her fifth kill of the night,
Cameron Rogers reached 1,500 career digs, one of two Warhawks to do so in the 25-point rally-scoring era.

In set one, both teams were even at a 9-9 score. The Cajuns (7-15 overall, 3-8 Sun Belt) then pulled away with five straight points. With a 5-1 scoring run, the Warhawks (4-21 overall, 0-13 Sun Belt) decreased the deficit to two. They had a chance down 22-19 late, but the Cajuns scored three of the last four points to secure the set.

The Ragin' Cajuns raced out to a 9-5 lead in the second set. They increased the lead with a 5-1 scoring run. ULM used a 5-1 run of its own to cut the lead to two.

After a back-and-forth set, the Cajuns possessed a 23-21 lead. Four kills by the Warhawks, the last two being by
Ariana Brown, gave the set to ULM as it tied the match 1-1.

After a 6-3 start by the Cajuns, the Warhawks scored five in a row to take a two-point lead. The Ragin' Cajuns responded with a 5-1 run to retake control. ULM was able to keep pace, and only trailed by two with a 22-20 score. However, three points by the Cajuns won them the third set.

Supported by a 7-1 run, the Ragin' Cajuns raced out to a 9-4 lead. ULM caught back up with a 5-2 run to trail by two. With an 18-16 score, The Cajuns scored seven of the last nine points to take the set and win the match.

For the Warhawks,
Ryley Boyne led in kills with 16, followed by Brown, who produced 14.
Morgan Howard tacked on 40 assists, her second-highest mark this season. Rogers tailed 20 digs on the night.
