ULM Women's Basketball Qualifies for WNIT, Earns First Postseason Bid Since 1994

The Warhawks are one of four Sun Belt teams set to compete in the 2024 WNIT.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The ULM women's basketball team has qualified for the 2024 WNIT Tournament, after tournament officials revealed the 2024 WNIT field on Sunday night. The Warhawks will play in the postseason for the first time since 1994.

The Warhawks received a bye and will play the winner of Grambling and Oral Roberts. The date, time and location of ULM's second-round matchup will be finalized after Thursday night's first round game between the Tigers and Golden Eagles. The second round of the WNIT will be played between March 23-26.

ULM is coming off of a 19-13 season and earned the most victories in program history since the 2005-06 season. The historic turnaround season comes after the program won a total of 14 games over the previous three seasons. ULM reached the Sun Belt Quarterfinals for the first time since 2013 and won its first SBC Tournament game in 11 years with a second round win over Georgia Southern. The 2023-24 team earned its highest Sun Belt regular season finish in 13 years and went on the largest conference winning streak since the 2007 season.

The 48-team WNIT field begins play this week, as the 26th edition of the Postseason WNIT returns to acknowledge deserving programs with a championship chase like no other. The 2024 field features 11 automatic qualifiers and 37 at-large selections, chosen after consideration of a mix of criteria by WNIT officials. There are 24 teams with 20 or more victories in the bracket.
