The Basics
The ULM beach volleyball team is set to begin the Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Championship on Thursday (April 25) at noon when the No. 7 Warhawks play No. 2 UNCW at the John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex in Huntsville, Ala.
The championship is a three-day, double-elimination tournament, with the winner earning an automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA National collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship.

About the Warhawks
- ULM is 14-17 overall and 1-5 in conference matches. The Warhawks defeated Mercer 3-2 in its only conference win of the season. ULM notched a program-best 31-4 record in 2023 with ULM beginning sponsorship of beach volleyball in 2013.
- After recording a 20-10 overall record this season, Kaitlyn Beck and Claire Williamson were named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team. Williamson, a sophomore from Glen Allen, Va., repeated as a member of the all-conference team and has compiled a career record of 52-12. Beck has earned 47 victories in her two-year ULM career. The dynamic duo went 15-7 in flight two, 4-0 in flight three and 1-0 in flight four and 0-3 in flight one. Won 12 consecutive matches and won 13 matches by scores of 2-0. Went 4-2 in Sun Belt matches including wins over Mercer, Coastal Carolina, UNCW and College of Charleston.
- Kaylie Beck and Tamsie Black have played at flight one in 20 matches this season, going 7-13. Beck, the older sister of Kaylie Beck, played with her sister last season and went 27-5. The senior from Roseville, Calif., transferred to ULM last season from Southern Miss. A junior from Wilmington, N.C., Black is a three-year letterwinner for ULM beach volleyball and holds a career record of 41-32.
- Two freshman have competed for the Warhawks in flight three with Eden Anderson and Kate Taylor. The pair went 12-15 overall and picked up wins in conference matches versus Mercer and College of Charleston.
- Kaitlyn Nowak, a senior from Flower Mound, Texas, received Second-Team All-Sun Belt Conference recognition in 2023 after going 26-9. The four-year letterwinner played in her 100th match last weekend at Tulane has tallied a career record of 48-52. A defender from Madisonville, La., Marquez has a record of 8-10 this season and is 34-17 overall in her career.
- Katie Felts and Maggie Cox have teammed up to go 9-4 at flight no. 5. Felts went 3-0 last season and is 15-18 in her career at ULM while Cox is in her freshman season for the Warhawks.
- ULM defeated UNCW in the inagural Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Tournament last season with a 3-1 win. Nowak and Marquez defeated UNCW's Bri Haggerty and Lyvia Trimp in two sets in flight two. Williamson and Avery Reynolds won in three sets while the Beck sisters claimed a win in flight five in two sets. The Warhawks dropped its next two matches to Georgia State and Southern Miss and was eliminated from the tournament.
