ULM junior triple jumper
Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi will compete in the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on Saturday (June 8).
The women's triple jump finals begin at 4:50 p.m. CT / 2:50 p.m. PT, with Ilunga Mbuyi competing in the second heat. The event will be broadcast on
ESPN+ and live results are available on the
NCAA Championship Central.
Ilunga Mbuyi qualified for the NCAA Championships after finishing in the Top 12 of the triple jump at the NCAA East Regional Preliminaries. Ilunga Mbuyi finished fifth overall in the triple jump with a jump of 13.13 meters (43-1). The Olivet, France native is back in the NCAA National Championships for the second consecutive season after recording a qualifying mark last season in the same event.
Entering the event, Ilunga Mbuyi ranks No. 17 in the country with a season-high jump of 13.37m. She won the gold medal for the third-straight year in the triple jump at the Sun Belt Conference Championship with a jump of 13.37m (43' 10.5") and broke the facility record to go along with her first-place finish. She added a silver medal in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 6.25m (20' 6.25"). Her triple jump result is first in the Sun Belt and third in the South Central Region while her long jump mark is third in the conference and 11th in the region.
