Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi Crowned First Team All-American in Triple Jump

It marks the first time a Warhawk has earned First Team All-American in over 30 years.

EUGENE, Ore. -- With a season-best jump of 13.50 meters (44-3.5), Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi became the first ULM track & field female athlete to earn First Team All-American recognition after finishing seventh overall at the 2024 NCAA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Stadium in Eugene, Ore.

The junior from Olivet, France became the first female Warhawk track & field athlete to earn First Team All-American honors in over 30 years. She recorded her mark on her second jump of the day after scratching on her first attempt.

Texas' Ackelia Smith was crowned the national champion in the event following a mark of 14.52m (47-7.75), finishing 0.51 meters ahead of Illinois' Darja Sopova. Emilia Sjostrand placed third at 13.87m.
