KICKOFF –
The ULM soccer team will be opening the season at Brown Stadium on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Monroe, taking on Arkansas-Pine Bluff. This is the first time the Warhawks are opening the season in Monroe in nine years. The last time ULM's season opener was at home, they faced neighborhood foe Louisiana Tech on Aug. 21, 2015.

SERIES HISTORY –
The Warhawks are looking to extend their four-game winning streak against the Golden Lions. ULM and Arkansas-Pine Bluff will meet on the pitch for the first time since 2015, a 2-1 win for ULM in Monroe. The Warhawks have won the last four meetings, dating back to the Golden Lions' 2-1 win on Sept. 14, 2010, in Monroe. The two teams met for the first time on Sept. 22, 2009 in Pine Bluff, Ark, ending in a 1-1 draw. ULM has allowed just one goal in the last four meetings while scoring at least two goals in each meeting.

RECORD YEAR WITH ROBERTS –
Head Coach
Will Roberts led the 2023 Warhawks to a 9-2-8 record, the best record in program history since joining the Sun Belt Conference, all in his first season as head coach. The team also set a school record for goals against average (0.94). After a strong six-game undefeated streak, the Warhawks didn't back down, only losing two games in the season. The season ended for ULM in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Championship, falling to Georgia Southern in penalty kicks.

THIRD-PLACE PICK –
The Warhawks started the preseason strong, being selected third in the Sun Belt preseason coaches poll, receiving 138 votes. This is the highest ULM Soccer has been ranked in the SBC preseason poll since joining the conference in 2006.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT –
The Arkansas-Pine Bluff soccer team is beginning a new era in 2024, naming Jayme Selph their new head coach. As their assistant coach in 2023, the Golden Lions posted a 9-11 record, their best since 2016 and a 4-1-1 SWAC record, their best conference record since 2015. Arkansas-Pine Bluff is predicted to finish eighth in the SWAC, per the preseason poll.

LOOKING AHEAD –
ULM hits the road to face Southern University at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Baton Rouge. The Warhawks will then return to Monroe for a three-game homestay vs. Grambling, Nicholls and McNeese on Aug. 22, 25 and 29, respectively.
