STATESBORO, Ga. – The ULM soccer team (10-2-4, 5-0-4 Sun Belt) launched a comeback in the final 45 minutes of the contest against Georgia Southern (2-9-6, 0-4-5 SBC) to remain unbeaten in conference play, extending the streak to 12. With two season-first goals from Warhawks, they found the 2-2 draw.
 
ULM opened up strong on offense, 
Ines de Lope Casanova notching a shot in the first minute as she and 
Giulia Franco pushed for an early score. A few shots on target were saved by goalkeeper Quinn Wilson. A foul in the box by the Eagles brought up a penalty kick for ULM, but the kick was missed and knocked out by Wilson.
 
Georgia Southern was able to keep pace with ULM for the first half, getting a few shots in and preventing the score from the Warhawks. Eagle Addison Comer knocked three shots in at the attempt for the leading score. While Georgia Southern had 
Skylar Blaise tied up for the most part, Franco was able to get several shots in, capturing a career-high five in just the first half. With both teams unable to find a score, the half concluded with a 0-0 draw.
 
The Eagles kept fighting on the offensive as the second half began, Kendall Wilson converting a shot in the 50
th minute for the 1-0 score. ULM continued to fight, Blaise notching a close shot on target, just barely tipped by the keeper. In the 64
th minute, Georgia Southern's Meredith Pugh was able to extend the lead to make it a 2-0 score for the home team.
 
After 
Margret Edda Bjarnadottir notched a shot on target, Franco got the ball to de Lope Casanova, who scored her first career goal to cut down the lead in the 73
rd minute. Franco notched her third assist of the season in the score.
 
In the 78
th minute, it was 
Jaden Masters that found the tying score with her first goal of the season, the third of her career. The goal was assisted by de Lope Casanova, who picked up her fourth of the season for a three-point game. Both teams turned it into overdrive to find the game winner as the clock began to wind down.
 
While fouls gave ULM opportunities in the form of set pieces, the Warhawks were unable to convert. Georgia Southern also battled, but goalkeeper 
Jen Handy collected a season-high five saves to maintain the draw.
 
Franco led the squad with six shots on the evening, two on target. Blaise and de Lope Casanova were close behind with four apiece. 
 
The Warhawks will round out the 2025 season on the road, taking on the Ragin' Cajuns in Lafayette on Wednesday (Oct. 29) at 7 p.m. CT.
