TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The ULM women's basketball team (5-3, 0-0 Sun Belt) fell to SEC opposition for the second time in as many games as they lost to Alabama (10-0, 0-0 SEC) 75-38. The Crimson Tide utilized a 23-9 second quarter to ultimately pull away from the Warhawks.

J'Mani Ingram led ULM on the night with 11 points while shooting 5-for-11 from the field.
Asjah Inniss finished closely behind with nine points while
Marcavia Shavers contributed eight points and a team high six rebounds.Â

Alabama jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Shavers scored her first two points to get the Warhawks on the scoreboard. A tough jumper by Ingram in the paint got ULM as close as they would come at 10-6 but the Crimson Tide would connect on a couple of three-pointers prior to ending the first quarter up 20-10.

Turnovers became an issue for the Warhawks in the second quarter as the Crimson Tide converted on several opportunities including two baskets off steals in the final 25 seconds of the quarter to push their lead to 24 at halftime. Alabama would go on to score 30 points off of 21 ULM turnovers for the game.

Asia Barclay three-point play got ULM off on the right foot out of the break, but the Crimson Tide's defense tightened even further as the Warhawks only managed to shoot 26.7 percent from the field in the third quarter.Â

ULM were able to produce better defensive returns themselves as they held Alabama to 16 points in the third and fourth quarters. For the game, ULM shot 33 percent from the field and went 0-for-10 from three-point range. The Crimson Tide finished the game shooting 55 percent from the field which is the first time the Warhawks have allowed a team to shoot better than 45 percent in a game this season.Â

ULM will continue their current road trip on Thursday as they are set to take on Indiana. Tipoff at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall is scheduled for 6 p.m.
