The Basics
The ULM beach volleyball team opens the 2025 season in South Carolina at the Coastal Invite held at the Coastal Carolina Beach Volleyball Complex on Friday and Saturday.

The Warhawks will face Carson-Newman on Friday (Feb. 21) at 8 a.m. ET/7 a.m. CT before wrapping up day one with a match versus Wingate at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT. Saturday's slate for the Warhawks includes a match versus College of Charleston at 8 a.m. ET/7 a.m. CT and a duel with the Chanticleers at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT. All four matches will have live scoring with links found on the beach volleyball schedule page.

About the Warhawks
ULM returns 12 players to its 2025 roster from the 2024 squad including Kaitlyn Beck, Madeline Marquez, Abby Ryno, Katie Felts, Claire Williamson, Maggie Cox, Paige Ingersoll, Brooke Bankston, Bailey Hope, Maddie Peterson, Drea Laughlin and Avery Hunter. ULM added newcomers Gracie Behneke, Kaelyn Fredette-Huffman, Zsa Zsa Ferguson and Kobie Fowler.

Baylee Young begins her first season as head coach of ULM beach volleyball. Young arrives to Monroe after leading Webber International University to consecutive NAIA Beach Volleyball National Championship appearances.

Scouting the Opposition
Carson-Newman began its season with a sweep last weekend with two wins over Florida State College at Jacksonville and a win over Lynchburg and Southern Virginia. The Eagles dropped just one pair in all four matches and was picked to finish first in the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches Poll. Wingate is set to play in its inagural season of beach volleyball this spring and is led by Wingate alumna Hannah Givens.

College of Charleston went 11-19 last season and edged the Warhawks 3-2 in the Sun Belt Conference Mid-Season Tournament in Huntsville last March, 3-2. The Cougars were voted to finish fifth in the SBC Preseason Poll. Coastal Carolina was picked to finish second in the SBC Preseason Poll and finished the 2024 season with a 27-10 record and fell in the SBC Championship match.
