NATCHITOCHES, La. – The ULM softball team (9-7) snagged a seventh-consecutive win on Wednesday (Feb. 16), defeating Northwestern State (1-14). Three Warhawks had multi-hit games, with three different players also hitting home runs.
The first inning started hot for ULM, with a home run coming from
Meagan Brown, the second at-bat of the day. Just when the bats couldn't get hotter,
Morgan Brown hit a solo home run to make the tally 3-0 in the top of the first inning.
The third inning picked up more scores for ULM.
Hollie Thomas singled to left field to get momentum going, a
Reece Briggs single then scoring Thomas.
Layla Thompson singled to score another Warhawk. Walks from
Georgia Polydoros and
Meagan Brown scored two more, making it a seven-run deficit for the Demons.
The third home run came from Briggs in the fourth quarter, her first career homer. She scored three to make it a double-digit margin for ULM. A few hits for the Demons in the bottom of the fourth tried for a momentum swing, but they picked up three outs before they could score a run. Thomas scored on an error in the fifth, making it 11-0. Another single from Briggs and a score from
Elle Carter shut out Northwestern State, 13-0.
Briggs led the team with three hits, also grabbing five RBIs and scoring twice.

Brooklin Lippert snagged two hits apiece.
Meagan Brown posted three RBIs from her home run.
