BATON ROUGE, La. – The ULM beach volleyball team (3-1) continues the 2025 season in Baton Rouge at the Tiger Beach Classic held at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
The Warhawks will face No. 10 LSU on Friday (Feb. 28) at 1 p.m before wrapping up day one with a match against North Alabama at 4:45 p.m. Saturday's schedule for the Warhawks starts with a match facing South Florida at 8 a.m. and concluding with UT Martin at 1 p.m. All four matches will be live streamed on VBTV, with links available on the beach volleyball schedule
About the Warhawks
Gracie Behneke and
Zsa Zsa Ferguson remain undefeated after last weekend, picking up four wins on court four. In flights two and three, the pairs went 3-1.
Abby Ryno and
Claire Williamson snagged three wins on court two while
Maggie Cox and
Katie Felts also picked up three on court three. On court five,
Kobie Fowler and
Bailey Hope went 2-2 last weekend. Finally
Kaitlyn Beck and
Madeline Marquez went 2-2 as well on the weekend, claiming wins against Carson-Newman and Wingate.
Baylee Young claimed her first wins at ULM last weekend at the Coastal Invite, claiming three wins over Carson-Newman, Wingate and College of Charleston.
Scouting the Opposition
LSU began its season going 4-1 at the Beach Burg Invitational, falling only to No. 6 Florida State. Originally ranked No. 8 in the AVCA, the Tigers dropped to 10 for the week after the 3-2 score against the Seminoles. North Alabama is 1-3 on the season so far, also competing in the Beach Burg Invitational and defeating only Southern Miss. The Lions fell to No. 6 Florida State, 1-4 and No. 8 LSU 0-5. UT Martin will be opening their season at the Tiger Beach Challenge, looking to reach high expectations. Last season, the Skyhawks won their third-consecutive Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship, going 9-1 in league play.
