MONROE, La. -- Daniela Campillo won her first individual championship and broke the ULM women's golf program record for a 54-hole score with a 207 (-9) as the Warhawks placed second as a team with a score of 863 (-1) at the ULM Invitational at Bayou DeSiard Country Club.
On Monday, Campillo shined on the course and fired 13 birdies and one eagle in 36 holes, posting a pair of scores at 67 (-5). The sophomore from Viladecans, Barcelona, finished strong and recorded a 73 (+1) in Tuesday's final round, which featured windy playing conditions. Campillo tallied 16 birdies in the tournament and set the ULM women's golf program record for lowest score in a 54-hole tournament.
Anna Andrysova landed inside the top 10 in a tie for sixth place after earning a score of 215 (-1) with individual round scores of 70-72-73.
Isabel Mas Pitarch placed 13th overall at 218 (+2) and recoreded her lowest round on Tuesday with a 71.
Johanna Sjursen fired a 225 (+7) and
Tessa Ion carded a 235 (+17) to finish the scoring for ULM.
Matilda Svahn competed as an individual and completed the tournament with a score of 225 (+7).
Southern Miss captured the team championship and finished four strokes in front of the Warhawks with an 859 (-5) while Oral Roberts placed third at 865 (+5). Taylor Trible of Southern Miss placed second individually with a final tally of -6.
The Warhawks are set to compete at the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship April 14-17 in Fairhope, Ala.
