LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The NFCA revealed its 2025 NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year Top 25 list on Friday (April 25) afternoon, naming ULM's
Morgan Brown to the list, the first Warhawk to receive the honor. ULM is one of six schools to be represented for the first time in 2025.
Brown has made her mark in the 2025 season, boasting a .403 batting average (64-of-159), including 14 doubles, three triples and a whopping 12 home runs. The Katy, Texas, native has recorded 54 RBIs so far this season, sitting at second in the Sun Belt and 24
th nationally. The redshirt freshman also leads the conference in hits, ranking 16
th in the NCAA.
"There is nobody more deserving of this award than Morgan," said head coach

Morgan Brown represent ULM in this honor."
The NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year award was created in 2014 to honor outstanding athletic achievement among Division I freshmen softball student-athletes. In 2025, the NFCA will award Freshman of the Year plaudits to a student-athlete from NCAA DI, NCAA DII, NCAA DIII and NAIA.
The list of 25 was selected by the NFCA. The top 10, top three and winner are selected by the NFCA Division I All-America Committee. To be eligible, student-athletes must be nominated by their member head coach and in their first year of NCAA Division I collegiate competition as a true freshman or redshirt freshman. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, May 27, prior to the start of the 2025 NCAA Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.
