FOLEY, Ala. -- The ULM beach volleyball team narrowly fell to the No. 3-seeded UNCWÂ by a score of 3-2 and was eliminated from the Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Championship at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex on Friday (April 25).

Kaitlyn Beck and
Madeline Marquez picked up their second win of the tournament playing in the No. 1 pair after a thrilling three-set win over Gabby LaPata and Sarah Thompson (21-17, 10-21, 15-13).
Katie Felts and
Maggie Cox roared back for a victory in pair four after dropping the first set 19-21 to
Tamsie Black and Sophia Puhala and won set two 21-11 and the deciding set 15-12. The Seahawks won matches in pairs 2, 3 and 5 by scores of 2-0 to claim the match. Grace Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp defeated
Abby Ryno and
Claire Williamson 25-23, 21-11 in pair two while Traci Schrock and Annika Thompson cruised to a 21-11, 21-8 win over
Avery Hunter and
Kaelyn Fredette-Huffman in pair three. Maddy Folks and Hannah Forbes clinched the match for UNCW with a 21-17, 21-15 win versus
Maddie Peterson and
Brooke Bankston.
The Warhawks concluded the season under first-year head coach
Baylee Young with a 13-22 overall record and a 2-4 conference mark.
