FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The ULM women's golf team battled through three difficult rounds of golf at the Vanderbilt Legends Club, scoring a total 893. The Warhawks finished 12th out of 16 teams, with
Johanna Sjursen leading the team and placing 24
th on the leaderboard.
I'm disappointed with how we finished as a team today," said head coach
Rachel Pollock. "Especially having played our front nine so well, not to get it done coming down the stretch was unacceptable. We know what we have to work on as a team, and we will use the next three weeks to prepare for the final stretch of our season."
ULM posted scores of 300-295-298 (+16, +11, +14) in the three rounds. After the first round, the Warhawks converted to improve in the second round, just on the cusp of finishing in the top 10. A difficult third round had the Warhawks remaining 12
th.
Johanna Sjursen finished 24
th on the leaderboard with a score of 217 (+4). She carded eight birdies and an eagle in three rounds, one of eight players to post an eagle.
Daniela Campillo finished +10 overall to finish 44
th.
Anna Andrysova was not far behind, finishing 49
th for a total score of 224 (+11). Andrysova shot even par on the front nine of the final round, finishing the last 18 holes three-over.
Emma Manzini shot 231 (+18) overall, collecting three birdies.
Zoe McLean-Tattan rounded out the Warhawks, shooting +26 and improving by eight strokes from the first to second round.
"Johanna had a great showing this week finishing in the top 25," said Pollock. "It was a very strong field and she competed against some of the best players in the country."
The Warhawks will continue the fall season on October 13, traveling to Jonesboro, Arkansas for the Lady Red Wolves Classic, hosted by Sun Belt foe Arkansas State.
