HUMBLE, Texas – The ULM women's golf team is traveling to Humble, Texas, to compete in the Chevron Collegiate, hosted by Houston, at the Golf Club of Houston. The 54-hole event will begin on Monday morning (Feb. 23) and conclude February 24.

The ULM women's golf team repeated as Great River Cup Champions and won all three matches in the match-play tournament in Gulfport, Mississippi. On Monday, the Warhawks defeated Little Rock by a score of 3-1-1 to advance to the semifinal match. Anna Andrysova cruised to a 3&2 win in her match and sank a trio of birdies during her round. Johanna Sjursen won her match 3&2 for ULM's second win and Tessa Ion earned a 2&1 win with an eagle and a birdie in her match win.  ULM advanced to the championship match after besting Missouri State 4-1 in the semifinals. Campillo needed just 13 holes in a strong 6&5 victory, carding three birdies. Sjursen played strong with three birdies in a row, collecting five in the round to claim the 3&2 win. Freshman Manzini carded four birdies to win 2&1 in the third win of the round for the Warhawks. Andrysova was able to hold the edge for the majority of the contest against Tierney Baumstark, completing with a one-up score. The Warhawks wrapped up the tournament championship with a 3-2 win over co-host and reigning Sun Belt champion Southern Miss. Campillo posted an eagle and three birdies on the way to a 3&2 victory. After maintaining the lead throughout all 18 holes, Manzini claimed a one-up win over Savannah Van Gaalen. Coming down to the final match, it was Sjursen vs. Fernanda Gorostiaga, remaining tied for the majority of the battle. Sjursen finally claimed the edge for the two-up victory, securing the 3-2 win and three-peat for the Warhawks. 
 
Up Next
The ULM women's golf team will continue the spring season in March, competing in the Dr. Donnis Thompson, hosted by Hawaii. The event, held in Lahaina, Hawaii, will be held from March 17 to 18.
