MONROE, La. – 13 hits and a strong starting pitching performance led ULM baseball (5-5) to a 12-0 run-rule win over Alcorn (1-7) on Wednesday afternoon.

Starter
Seaver Sheets hit a pitcher to put him on base, but immediately picked him off to get the first out. A strikeout and fly out ended the first frame of the afternoon. At the bottom of the inning,
Bryce Blaser doubled to get in scoring position and stole third.
Jake Haggard hit a sacrifice fly to score the first run and end the first inning with the Warhawks in front.

With two runners on at the bottom of the second,
Zach White singled to right field to produce an RBI.
Davis Mauzy followed up with a sac-fly before
Kade Dupont grabbed another RBI single to make it 4-0 at the end of two.

ULM collected three straight singles to start the bottom half of the fourth, including an RBI hit from Mauzy. With two outs,
Jake Haggard powered his second homer of the season, going 335 ft. to left field and putting the Warhawks up 8-0.

The Braves again went three-up three-down at the top of the fifth as Sheets pitched through five frames. His final stat line in the win included five innings pitched with one hit allowed, no earned runs, no walks and two strikeouts with only 40 pitches thrown. He is now 1-0 on the season, keeping a 0.00 ERA.

ULM again put pressure on at the bottom of the inning, using a
Jackson Landry walk and a White hit to put two runners on. A flyout and strikeout ended the inning and kept the lead at eight.

In the bottom of the sixth, Dupont and Danye Wray both singled while Haggard walked to start things off with the bases loaded. With one out,
Jackson Landry struck a no-doubter, going 426 ft. out of left field to produce a 12-0 Warhawk lead. A 1-2-3 inning from Alcorn at the top of the seventh ended the game in a seven-inning run-rule victory.

Haggard and Kandry both had four-RBI games, while Mauzy also collected two. White, Wray, Dupont and Mauzy each produced multi-hit games.

ULM continues the nonconference home slate with a three-game weekend series starting on Friday at 1 p.m. vs. Western Illinois.
