Beach Volleyball Preview: Tiger Beach Challenge

The Warhawks look to find success in Baton Rouge, competing in the Tiger Beach Challenge for the second-straight season.

BATON ROUGE, La. – The ULM beach volleyball team (1-3) enters its second weekend of 2026 with a trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the Tiger Beach Challenge, hosted by LSU, from Friday (Feb. 27) through Saturday (Feb. 28).
The Warhawks open the weekend taking on Washington on day one at 2:15 p.m. before facing UAB that same day at 4:45 p.m. On Saturday, they play North Alabama at 1 p.m. before ending the weekend against host LSU at 4:45 p.m.

The Warhawks went 1-3 in their opening weekend, falling to UTEP, McNeese and host Texas A&M-Kingsville before claiming the first win of the season against Sam Houston in a 3-2 contest. The duos of Ingersoll/Sondrup, Bankston/Peterson and Taggart/Zukowska all picked up wins in their flight to snag the contest.
Scouting the Opposition
Washington is 3-1 on the season so far, sweeping Pepperdine and only falling to #10 Long Beach State in the Pepperdine Challenge. UAB enters the Tiger Beach Challenge with a 2-3 record, defeating Southeastern and Cal State Bakersfield in the Florida State-hosted Unconquered Invitational. North Alabama also opened its season at the Unconquered Invitational, defeating UAB, Southeastern and Cal State Bakersfield to get to a 3-2 record. Host and 12-ranked LSU enters the weekend a perfect 5-0. The Tigers defeated all five of their opponents in the Green Wave Classic, hosted by Tulane.

The Warhawks will return to Monroe to host the ULM Bayou Bash on March 13 to 14 at the ULM Beach Volleyball Courts.
