BATON ROUGE, La. – The ULM beach volleyball team (1-7) fell in the final day of the Tiger Beach Challenge, going 0-4 on the weekend against Washington, UAB, North Alabama and LSU.
Match 1: North Alabama 3, ULM 2
A tight contest between the teams came down to one win, with the Lions claiming the victory. In the first pair,
Abby Ryno and
Claire Williamson went to three sets with the Lions, picking up the first set 20-22 before falling 23-21, 15-11.
Avery Hunter and
Paige Ingersoll were able to pick up a win as the second duo (16-21, 21-17, 15-10) defeated Paige Griner and Sarah Larkin Lewis. North Alabama then claimed two sweeps from pairs three and four in
Calli Otjen/
Izabela Zukowska (21-13, 21-19) and
Katie Felts/
Natalie Taggart (21-13, 21-18).
Brooke Bankston and
Maddie Peterson were able to snag a win as the fifth flight, sweeping North Alabama (21-16, 23-21).
Match 2: LSU 5, ULMÂ 0
In the first pair, Ryno/Williamson fell in a sweep (21-18, 21-18) to the Tigers, Hunter/Ingersoll also dropping in a sweep (21-4, 21-15). Otjen/Zukowska in flight three were also swept (21-11, 21-14), along with Bankston/Peterson in flight five (21-16, 21-14). Felts/Taggart took it to three sets with LSU, but ultimately fell (21-23, 21-19, 15-10).
