Preview: McNeese Cowboy Relays

The Warhawks open the outdoor season in Lake Charles.

MONROE, La. – The ULM track and field team starts the outdoor season with a trip to Lake Charles, La., to compete at the McNeese Cowboy Relays from Friday, Mar. 13, through Saturday, Mar. 14.
 
Along with the host school in McNeese, the Warhawks will also face competition from the Sun Belt Conference in the Ragin' Cajuns.
 
MEET SCHEDULE –
The field events for Friday begin with the men's and women's hammer throw at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., followed by the javelin throws. At 11 a.m. is the long jumps and women's pole vault, followed by the triple jumps and men's pole vault at 1 p.m. The shot put starts at noon, as the day ends with the high jumps and discus throws at 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
 
Running events start at 12:10 p.m. with the 2000m steeple chase, which is followed by the 4x200m and 4x800m relays. The 400m hurdles take place at 1:20 p.m. with the 4x100m relay, 3000m and 100m races occurring afterwards. After the sprint medleys, the women's 100m and men's 110m hurdle events take place as the 1500m and 4x400m relays end the day.
