OXFORD, Miss./BATON ROUGE, La. – ULM track and field finished the first of three two-meet weekends with the Ole Miss Classic on Friday and the LSU Opener on Saturday.

In Oxford,
Sydney Lake and
Blake Stevens both placed fifth in the men's and women's hammer throw events, with Lake producing a 58.58m mark and Stevens landing at 58.10m.

On Saturday, five Warhawks placed first with
Benedikt Schweizer (62.81m) in the men's hammer throw,
Nathan Wade (7.65m) in the men's long jump, Lake (58.18m) in the women's hammer throw,
Rebekka Flotho (4:36.51) in the 1500m event, and
Mikayla Douglas (1:00.92) in the women's 400m hurdles race.

For the men,
Matthew Malcolm, Joseph Morgan and
Mario Santin placed on the podium in the running events in the 400m Hurdles and 1500m races, while
Ali Eren Unlu collected a silver in the high jump.
Tuva Sandberg,
Courtney Smith and
Maya Nobes also had podium finishes in the same events for the women.

ULM is back on the track next weekend as it travels to Waco, Texas, for the Clyde Hart Classic from Friday, Mar. 27, through Saturday, Mar. 28.
