ULM Women's Golf Advances to Sun Belt Match Play as Top Seed

The Warhawks earned the No. 1 slot in the top four teams with a nine-stroke lead.

POINT CLEAR, Ala. – The ULM women's golf team has advanced from stroke play to the semifinals in the Sun Belt Championships, hosted at Lakewood Golf Club. The Warhawks earned the one seed in the match play competition, finishing with a score of 871 (+7). South Alabama (+16), Texas State (+17) and Old Dominion (+18) will round out the field in match play.

Daniela Campillo led the Warhawks for another day, fighting in contention to claim the individual title. After carding an even scorecard to finish with a 211 (-5), Old Dominion's Barbara Car shot six-under in her final round to snag the individual title. Campillo tied for second with South Alabam's Lilian Buehle, finishing in the top three for the third consecutive year with her best score among the three years. 

Anna Andrysova, Emma Manzini and Zoe McLean-Tattan all tied at 14th on the leaderboard with a score of 221 (+5), McLean-Tattan's 12 birdies tying for third-most in the tournament. Johanna Sjursen rounded out the field for ULM, completing her third round with a 73 and carding an overall 222 (+6). 

The top-seeded Warhawks will begin match play against four-seeded Old Dominion tomorrow (April 23). Once the semifinals have concluded, the two remaining teams will compete in a match play championship, the winning team taking home the title.
