Mobile, Ala. – ULM track and field finished up day one of competition at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships on Thursday.

The men ranked third in the team ranking at the end of the day with 20 points behind South Alabama and Texas State.
Benedikt Schweizer led the way with a silver medal in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 64.85m.
Matthew Malcolm also enters the 400m Hurdles finals as the favorite, placing first in the preliminary event.

Francisco Calhau and
Blake Stevens also collected points for the Warhawks. For the women,
Sydney Lake placed fourth in the hammer throw events with a distance of 60.95m and
Mikayla Douglas qualified for the 400m Hurdles finals placing fourth.

Day two begins tomorrow with the first events occurring at 10:30 a.m.
