NEW ORLEANS – Sophomore Benedikt Schweizer was named Sun Belt Men's Field Athlete of the Week, voted on by the conference's coaches and communications directors.
 
The Leverkusen, Germany native posted a distance of 66.28m in the hammer throw, which secured first place at the Warhawk Classic last weekend. It was also a personal best in the event as well.
 
His result ranked as the top mark in the Sun Belt Conference for the 2026 outdoor season and also ranked third best on the South-Central Region performance list. He is 14^th in the NCAA East division and 32^nd on the NCAA Division I list.
 
Schweizer and the Warhawks will take on the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships in Mobile, Ala., next weekend.
