MONROE, La. – Hillary Kirwa from ULM cross country was named Warhawk Male of the Week after setting a new career-best, while Somer Anderson from ULM soccer earned Warhawk Female of the Week with her game-winning goal in double overtime.

Kirwa led the men with a top-35 time of 25:45.07 in the 8K race at the Crimson Classic on Friday. It was a new personal-best for the junior and also a huge improvement from his 26:32.1 time in ULM's last meet at the Chile Pepper Festival.

The ULM soccer program pulled out a thrilling 2-1 victory on Sunday, courtesy of Anderson's goal with 10 seconds remaining in double overtime. The freshman pushed all the way up from her defensive position and was in the perfect place on Whitney Tuckfield's free kick.

The Soso, Miss., product applied the finishing touch and rolled the ball past a charging goalkeeper. The ULM Soccer Complex record crowd of 383 erupted as Anderson came through with the game-winner on Senior Day.

The Warhawk Female of the Week honor is the seventh weekly award that the soccer program has won this season; Allie Dickson earned Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Jenna Pillon was named Warhawk Female of the Week, SBC Offensive Player of the Week and CSM SBC Player of the Week and Nancy Kirk won CSM SBC Player of the Week.
