NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The ULM track & field team continued its outdoor season at the Carl Knight Invitational on the campus of Stephen F. Austin this weekend. Five Warhawks brought home first-place finishes while 13 earned top-three finishes in Nacogdoches.
On the women's side, the Warhawks claimed the top two spots in the Heptathlon, with
Claudine Raud-Gumiel racking up 5,337 points for first place and
Savanna Lawson totaling 5,016 points for second place.
Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi swept the jumping events for first place after leaping 6.16m in the long jump and 12.88m in the triple jump.
Kimone Campbell placed third in the 400m with a 55.84 while
Anna Naff took third in the 5000m with a time of 17:56.59.
Sydney Lake registered a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 51.70m.
ULM finished first in two field events on the men's side.
Algirdas Strelciunas jumped 7.50m in the long jump for first place.
Wardell Glaspie recorded a throw of 56.21m in the discus for the longest distance.
Devin Bilbo ran the 110m hurdles in 14.07 in the finals for second.
Joseph McEvoy compiled 6,365 points in the decathlon for a second-place finish.
Jay Louison-Roe came in third place in the long jump with a distance of 14.76m and
Rojs Puks ranked third in the steeplechase with a time of 9:23.17.
The Warhawks are slated to continue the outdoor season at the Mt. Sac Relays in California and the LSU Alumni Meet next weekend.
