MONROE, La. – The ULM track & field team concluded hosting its first-ever Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships by capturing a trio of podium finishes on the final day of competition Saturday at Groseclose Track at Brown Stadium.
For the second consecutive year,
Kimone Campbell repeated as the 800m champion after setting a new facility record with a 2:07.46.
Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi captured her third-straight Sun Belt Outdoor Triple Jump crown with a new facility record jump of 13.37m (43-10 ½).
Wardell Glaspie rounded out the podium finishes for the Warhawks with a toss of 58.33m (191-4) in the men's discus.
The Warhawks brought home four medals from earlier in the championship after
Claudine Raud-Gumiel won the heptathlon with a personal-best score of 5,496 points. Ilunga Mbuyi won a silver medal in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 6.25m (20-6 1/4). ULM won a pair of medals in field events on the men's side after
Algirdas Strelciunas finished second in the long jump and
Oscar Prieto took third in the pole vault. In all, 25 Warhawks finished in the top 10 in their respective events.

As a team, the Warhawks finished in eighth on the women's side with a total of 46 points and eighth on the men's side with 59 points. Texas State captured its first SBC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship in six seasons with 120.2 points while South Alabama won the men's championship with a score of 143 points.
