MONROE, La. -- Hosting the first Sun Belt Conference Tournament in school history, the ULM track & field team completed the first day of competition on Thursday (May 9) at Groseclose Track at Brown Stadium in Monroe. The first day of competition was halted in the early evening due to thunderstorms in Monroe, with action picking back up tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.

Claudine Raud-Gumiel leads the heptathlon standings after the first day with a score of 3,315 points while her teammate
Savanna Lawson is in third place at 3,014 points. Raud-Gumiel won three events with personal-best marks including the 100m hurdles (13.66) the high jump mark of (1.70m) and the 200m (25.00). Lawson placed second in the 100m hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.40 and the 200m with a personal-best time of 25.02. Katerina Natsiopoulou earned a spot in the 400m Hurdles finals after placing eighth in the prelims with a time of 1:02.32. On the men's side, a trio of Warhawks qualified for the 1500m finals afterÂ
